“A not-so quiet place”

Films: Don't Speak (2020)

Alias: None

Type: Mutant

Location: Civilized Area/Haunted Home

Height/Weight: That of an average human.

Affiliation: Neutral, leaning on Evil

Summary: Two years ago, one of the most efficient extraterrestrial killing machines was conceived. Now, we see what happens when others try to ape its ferocity and its terror. Short version is that it feels like something we've already seen before.

History: In a remote country town, there's almost no one there. The best case scenario is that they all evacuated when it came. "It" being a blind government experiment that had broken loose to look for prey. A few people are wondering just what happened, but it puts them straight into the stalking horror's path.

Notable Kills: There's already a colony of spiders growing in the barely-alive cocooned person it has in a barn.

Final Fate: There's only one survivor left in the end. And before he can do anything about the monster that had killed his family and friends, government officials come to take care of the problem themselves. One way or another, the beast is doomed.

Powers/Abilities: Aside from excellent hearing, this mutant can cocoon people for storage, as well as puke a strange substance that somehow impregnates targets with its eggs. Its victims can also puke parasitic eggs onto others.

Weakness: Aside from its blindness, anything conventional.

Scariness Factor: 3-Credit where it's due, this being's gaunt appearance and unsettling powers make for a formidable stalker. Almost all forms of contact with it turns any man into a walking incubator, sometimes without them knowing it. All that holds it back is its minimal appearances, lack of sight, and rather boorish look altogether.

Trivia: -As if it weren't obvious enough as to what this was inspired by, this film goes by "Silent Place" in the UK.

-It is possible that this film was made as a mockbuster to the sequel to "A Quiet Place", but that was before its release date was pushed due to COVID-19.

Somebody must have left a key in a VERY accessible area.
"Wow, he's so elusive! By the way, why aren't we being paid again?"
